Harnessing the principals of synaesthesia to enhance emotional experiences with existing art displays and exhibitions. Imagine if we could hear a beautiful painting, or taste what a sculpture looks like. The aim is to create new, accessible and inclusive ways to experience art by utilising senses which are not currently being triggered. To do this, we will carefully redefine the emotional context of the art and aim to replicate this emotional feeling using technology. Technology will not replace the art, but will compliment it in innovative creative ways. Within the synaesthesia territory, three distinctive outcomes have been outlined in the additional materials which utilise digital media to create physical emotions enabling a new dialogue between the museum and it’s visitors. These are; Artistic Soundscapes, Good Vibrations and The feel of light. Let’s re-imagine what a museum experience is and use modern technology to delight the senses.
