As the world’s population increases, cultural, artistic, historical and other information transfer to all over the world seems much more necessary, I think the future museums will play an important role in this aspect. my idea for future museums is implementing the augmented reality technology. We can build museums with different architecture and consider spaces for displaying artworks, but actually there wouldn’t anything put in the spaces. So there will be just lights and sensors and the architecture of the museum spaces are designed and planned beforehand. Museum visitors would enter and choose between the available subjects according to their interest ( every single visitor can choose a different subject from others like natural history, artworks of an artist and etc.) and each will receive an augmented reality glasses (for example Microsoft HoloLens) these AR glasses have the ability to coordinate the museum environment and sensor information and also are very high quality in displaying the pictures and information. These AR glasses are the future museums which visitors will experience.
museum items are the high quality realistic 3D-scanned form of the original samples from all over the world And the AR makes it possible for the visitor to observe the items far from the real place with the original quality. Visitors will receive a brief or a very expert explanations in their native language and they can observe the item from a very close distance with details (much more closer than it is possible in reality) They can also see items which are physically very huge or very small because there is no limit. Also it will be possible to display moving or performing items and world events can be recreated realistically in 3D video formats (for example a holographic-like experience of the battle of Waterloo or the throw of the first spaceship to the moon) all these happenings and experiences can be shared with other visitors of the same museum who are interested in other genres and it is also possible to share the comments and memories with other visitors in other places all over the world. This kind of museums can be built by archiving the same data in all over the world and there’s no need for them to be in the same architecture so the cost of educations, learning and experiencing will be decreased sufficiently and the information will become public (for example artists from all over the world wouldn’t have to go to the Louvre Museum to see Da Vinci’s artworks) and every single person will be able to experience the humankind’s achievements by visiting a live and dynamic museum in his own city or country. The museums will have many capabilities, for example they can have timed programs at the same time with their regular activities (like a contemporary artist’s art week) and add a special artwork collection of an artist to their displaying archive concurrently all over the world or hold performance arts so that all the interested people from all over the world will be able to visit and share their thoughts at the same time or even try to influence the artwork and this facility for sure will result in many exciting events.
