Visiting Director

Il Museo Marino Marini nominates a current italian or international museum director or curator who it will entrust to create an ad hoc plan for 12 months of museum programming.

In 2019, the Visiting Director will be Dmitry Ozerkov, art historian, curator of the Department of Modern and Contemporary Art at the State Museum of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg.
A young, lively, and enterprising individual, Dmitry is the director of the Neo-Contemporary department of the Hermitage in St. Petersburg. He is an art historian, philosopher, and curator of numerous exhibitions of contemporary art in Russia and abroad. Since 2007, he has worked on the ambitious Hermitage 20/21 Project for Contemporary Art that aims to collect and exhibit Russian contemporary art. Also in 2007, he curated “USA Today,” a deliberately provocative selection of contemporary American artists with works from the Charles Saatchi collection that brought his name to the forefront of the Russian press.
In 2011, Ozerkov paid tribute to Dmitry Prigov, curating the inaugural participation of the Hermitage Museum at the 54th Biennale in Venice, the characteristic international event for contemporary art. He commissioned Manifesta X (2014), in addition to authoring publications and articles on the contemporary creative process and art of the nineteenth century.
