A project developed with a group of Florentine museums, (Natural History Museum, Galileo Museum, FIRST Fondazione Scienza e Tecnica, Archimedes Garden – Mathematics Museum, Horne Museum, Casa Buonarroti, Florentine Museum of Prehistory, and the Museo Marino Marini), that has obtained funding from the Region of Tuscany. The WELCOME project (We Encourage Living Collective Open Museum Experiences) is dedicated to hospitality in museums, inclusion, and accessibility.
With funding from the project the Museo Marini has carried out the following:

a “design for all” postcard with raised imagery and caption in braille

a video presentation in LIS

museum activities with the transportation service for the elderly that live in care homes (those which are not equipped with a mode of transport for group outings), and activities in residences and day centers

maintenance and restoration of the museum’s narrative paths guided by sound, to enrich the visitor’s experience

two boxes equipped with specific materials to bring “the museum outside of the museum”

4 puzzles from Marino Marini’s paintings to encourage observation through play and doing

various training events dedicated to museum educators of the 8 museums, on issues related to inclusion and accessibility
