The Museo Marino Marini announces the launch of the first edition of the “Playable Museum Award”: following the example of the “Playable City Award,” world acclaimed format dedicated to the city. The project, curated by Fabio Viola – engagement scientist, Italian expert and professor of gamification and engagement design at the IED of Milan – intends to collect innovative contributions for the planning phases of pioneering initiatives to imagine the museum of the future, a hub of technological innovation, at the avant garde of social and cultural spaces, that favors the participation and the active and spontaneous engagement of visitors.
The call will be open to all creatives and visionaries around the world who are capable of presenting solutions that will render the experience with and in the museum “creative” involving the new generations through an innovative code. A Space, such as the one to be created, shall be shared between artists, for artists, designers, musicians, writers, graphic designers. The projects must be original unpublished work and will be put before an expert panel of judges.
The winner will be announced during the occasion of the re-opening of the museum, in Spring 2018, and will receive a grant funding along with the possibility to implement their project in the Museo Marino Marini of Florence. All the works will receive visibility through the official site of the initiative and the specific communication connected to the event. The Playable Museum Award has been made possible through the support and collaboration from the Foundation Cassa di Risparmio Firenze.
